It’s the eve of the Great Depression and not only businesses are failing. The famous Doctor Albrecht (Wes Melton) has just run out of his miraculous herb. He employs Warner (Andrew L. Salmonson), a naïve busboy, to face Fear itself and gather more of the precious plant. Annalise (Tracy Emmert), desperate to save her ill mother, sets off on her own quest to find the herb. Their paths converge in the night, and they each find more than they were seeking at The Garden House.

In a once lovely and productive suburb, a young woman struggles not to disappear in the fast-changing face of the city she loves. Self-affirming reminders of poise and presentation keep her going as disappearances and violence shock the community, some in which she plays a part. She focuses on preventing drastic changes to her city, but recurring dreams may be telling her to focus on her own impending fate.
